Why we built PledgeSign

Contracts, NDAs and closure documents took too many steps and too many tools. So we built one place for all of it.

Every client project needs paperwork, and every piece of paperwork has the same problem: the process around the document is longer than the document itself.

The paperwork behind every project

Before a project starts you need a contract. Often you need an NDA, sometimes a content agreement, and at the end a closure document. We went through this on our own projects. To prepare each document, we wrote the content by hand in a Word file and filled in the client's details. Then we uploaded the file to an e-signature tool, waited for the signatures, and saved the signed copy in a folder on a computer. Finding it again later was harder than creating it.

The gap we found

The e-signature tools we looked at handle the signature and stop there. The onboarding around the signature is left to you. Project and ERP tools handle the work itself, with tasks, boards and sprints, but they are not built around the contract.

We did not find a product that treated contracts, signatures, client engagements and payments as one flow, with good templates for the agreements small businesses actually use.

Who we built it for

A photo studio does not need sprints and task boards. It needs a contract, an invoice and a payment, in the right order. The same is true for accountants, interior designers, freelancers and small agencies. Many e-signature products are built and priced for large organisations, so we wanted to build something affordable for small businesses first. Larger organisations are welcome too.

What PledgeSign does

PledgeSign brings contracts, signatures, client engagements and payment collection into one place, with clear steps from the first agreement to the closing document, and a status for each step so you always know where a project stands.

Where it goes from here

PledgeSign launches as a focused first version. For users in India we are introducing Aadhaar eSign and e-stamping, and we are planning iOS and Android apps for users worldwide. After launch we will listen to the businesses using it and build what matters most to them, while keeping it simple to use and affordable.

If you handle contracts by hand today, we would like to hear how that goes. Write to us at info@mouli.io.
